Power Transmission
Industrial Gearing for power transmission
Whether you need replacement gearing, a custom engineered set of gearing, or a complete gearbox, you will benefit from our expertise in the design and manufacturing of industrial gearing.
Our experienced engineers use the latest engineering software and techniques to evaluate and improve upon design of your existing gearing. Combine this with our metallurgical and manufacturing experience of over 100 years, and you get quality, longest lasting industrial gearing for any application.

Our Custom Designed Industrial Gears for each application provide the Optimum Solution for Trouble Free Long Life Operation.
Our Industrial Gears have a Special Tooth Design with Root Centering provides optimum Stability, eliminates Bottoming Out of Teeth, and increases Lubrication around Teeth.
Our Case Hardening Heat Treatment provides a uniform case with ductile core, resulting in:
Increased Strength, Additional Load Carrying Capability, Improved Wear resistance, especially in Abrasive Environments, Improved Fatigue Resistance, and Extreme long Service Life
Xtek Drive Pinions are manufactured at their Cincinnati, Ohio, USA facility. At this facility, our state-of-the-art machining and heat treat equipment produce mill pinions to the highest quality standards available. Each set of mill pinions is evaluated for the demands of the application. Our goal is to lower operating costs through improvements in design, material and quality.

Reconditioning for our European and Middle East customers is provided by our service facility based in Plzen, Czech Republic. Our reconditioning approach for mill pinion assemblies includes the following:
Mechanical and non-destructive inspection of the mill pinion and components
Evaluation of tooth surface for in service contact
Strength and durability analysis of the mill pinion set in its current condition
Weld repair of the mill pinion journal diameters
Repair or replacement of components – couplings, bearing
Our engineers can provide a failure analysis, reverse engineer components or recommend specific improvements for upgrading the performance of your existing gearbox. Our goal is not just to build or rebuild your gearbox, but to manufacture a product that provides additional capability and requires less cost to maintain.
From heavy duty reversing and roughing stands to high speed cold finishing stands, our geared couplings have an impressive history of unsurpassed performance in rolling mill applications.
Rolling mills around the world continue to push the envelope of equipment capabilities to increase production. In response, our partners’ line of coupling gearing was designed with exacting tolerances to increase load capacity and overall life. We have taken the best characteristics of the classic unique heat treated geared coupling and made it even better.
Bull Gears can be made out of one piece or multiple segments.
Service life is supposed to stretch over a long period. This requires high quality bull gears made of first class material in line with strictly defined production processes.
Bull gears are applied in mining, cement, and minerals industries used in various types of horizontal mills, rotary dryers, rotary kilns and other gear driven applications in heavy processing.
Advantages of Universal Joints
-
Compensation of high angles thus allowing the transmission of the torque between two shafts not in line.
-
In its version with a double extensible joint a universal joint will allow both radial and axial displacements.
-
High Torque transmission.
-
Minimum Maintenance.
-
Easy to install.
Our universal shafts have been divided in different models for light to medium and for heavy industrial applications. In both cases special types are available upon request. Yokes are from cast or forged heat treated material. Crosses are from forged carburized steel, either one piece or with lose cup. Bearings are from carburized steel. Splined shafts are all nitrated or induction hardened.
